Turley, Lawrence R.

Lawrence Raymond Turley, 80 of Roseville, IL passed away Sunday September 20, 2015, 10:03 am at his home.  He was born Sunday January 13, 1935 in Roseville, IL the son of Lawrence Elswick and Lillian Margaret (Ross) Turley.  He married Fern Joyce Harris on December 10, 1953.

He is survived by his wife of Roseville, IL; three children Pamela (Greg) Livermore of Roseville, IL, David (Kendra) Turley of Vernon Hills, IL, and Michael Turley of Hamilton, MT; 9 grandchildren Nicholas (Melissa) Livermore, Nathaniel (Nicole) Livermore, Noah (Katina) Livermore, Abigail Turley, Benjamin Turley, Collin Turley, Ryan Turley, and Mathew Turley, Holly Turley; 2 step-grandchildren Justin Bourne, and Jessica Bourne; 6 great grandchildren; one brother Charles “Bud” (Donna) Turley.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother (Donald Turley), 1 sister (Margaret Yeakey), 1 niece (Kelli Lightsey).

He was born and raised in Roseville, IL.  He graduated from Roseville High School.  He served in the U.S. Air force from 1952-1956 and was a staff Sergeant.  He was the Co owner of Turley and Sons Service Station with his father and brother, he also worked for the Roseville School District as a custodian retiring in 1997 after 17 years.  He was a member of the Roseville Fire Department for 12 years retiring in 1986 he was also a past Fire Chief.  He was a member of the Roseville Cemetery Board, and member of the Roseville Masonic Lodge for 57 years and was a Past Master.  He enjoyed woodworking, spending time at his children and grandchildren’s extra curricular activities, fishing and antiquing with his wife.

Graveside Service will be Friday September 25, 2015, 11:30 am at the Roseville Township Cemetery, Rev.
