Saline “Considering” Run for 74th District

WGIL Square Logo 800px cmpKnox County GOP Chairman Wayne Saline says he is considering a run to represent the 74th District in the Illinois General Assembly.

Saline tells WGIL that he’ll likely begin gauging the general interest fairly soon.

“At this point, I am considering a run for the 74th. I’ve had some encouragement. I’m probably leaning toward circulating petitions and seeing how things work out,” says Saline.

Although Saline says he has no formal announcement or campaign in line yet, he says he would run behind a campaign focusing on job creation among other issues.

“That’s going to require changing the structure in Springfield.” “Regulations and restrictions are forcing small businesses, as well as large businesses, out of the state. We need to re-evaluate all of those regulations and try to grow our economy within by creating jobs, and not by increasing taxes.”

By trade, Saline is a farmer near the Rio area. He served as a Republican member on the Knox County Board from 2000 until 2011 and then took over for former Knox County Republican Chairman Bill Abel in 2013.
