Fisher JackJack E. Fisher, age 85, of Knoxville, Illinois died on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois

He was born on February 20, 1930 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of James and Marian Lundquist Fisher. He was married in Palmyra, Missouri to Darlene DeEtta Brokaw for sixty-four years on September 20, 1951.

Surviving is his wife, Darlene Fisher of Knoxville, Illinois; two sons, Jack (Kathy) Fisher of Knoxville, Illinois and Dave (Jill) Fisher of Abingdon, Illinois; three grand-daughters, Lauren (Alex) Humes of Chicago, Illinois, Lindsey Fisher of Galesburg, Illinois, and Jenna Fisher of Knoxville, Illinois; one great grandson, Max. Also surviving is one brother, Fred Fisher of Galesburg, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Beverly Jo Venard.

He was a supervisor for Dick Blick in Galesburg, Illinois for 29 years, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and coin collecting. He served in the United States Air Force as a mechanic during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Harry Philblad American Post #729 of Knoxville, Illinois. He was of the Methodist Faith.

Jack’s wishes were to have no visitation or funeral services, but the family would like to thank all of their friends and neighbors; Dr. Meeker and staff; Dr. Prager and staff; and Dr. Cherukuri; OSF Hospice and OSF Hospital; and Deacon Crummer. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice or to St. Jude’s Hospital and may be sent to the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory for the family.
