Cree, NancyNancy Lee Cree, 78, of Galesburg, died at 7:34 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at home.

She was born November 17, 1936 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galesburg, the daughter of Kendall and Minnie (Grafland) Toureene. She married Glen H. Cree on July 13, 1954 in Galesburg.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Glen; two sons, Paul (and Vergene) Cree of Knoxville and Michael (and Laura) Cree of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Debra (and Bill) Holcomb of Galesburg and Diane (and Ed) Mower of Lake Bracken, Galesburg; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kendall William Toureene.

Nancy worked in the election office for the City of Galesburg for 20 years, retiring January 1, 1999. She graduated from ROVA High School in 1954. She was a member of Rio Presbyterian Church. Nancy loved her family, crafting, and holidays, especially Christmas. Glen and Nancy enjoyed traveling.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jim Ecklund officiating. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral with private family burial in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.   Memorial contributions in Nancy’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
