Knox receives $800,000 grant from Mellon Foundation

Knox CollegeKnox College announced yesterday that they received an $800,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

The funds will be used toward various support initiatives for underrepresented students.

A few of those initiatives include academic support services, student success coaching and an expanded student preparedness program.

Much of that funding will also benefit scholarships, internships, and study abroad programs.

In a press release, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Students Laura Behling says the funding allows the school to “embrace the 21st-century higher education landscape as a place of opportunity and possibility.”

Since 1970, Knox has been awarded 11 grants from the Foundation totaling more than $2.6 million.

Currently, the college holds an additional $400,000 grant used for faculty career enhancement.
