clark, marvinMr. Marvin R. Clark, 83, formerly of Galesburg died at 2:30 am, Monday, October 19, 2015 at The Waters of Covington in Covington, Indiana.

He was born August 11, 1932 in Delong, Illinois the son of Fred G. and Martha Crowder Clark.

Marvin is survived by his sister, Anna Brown of Galesburg; nephews, Mike Brown and Marc (Nancy) Brown, Fred R. (Marcia), Roger (Laura) and Bradley Clark; nieces, Kim (Dewey) Brackett, Cindy (Robert) Unthank and Barbara (Ray) McBride; sisters-in-law, Jackie and Janet Clark; many great and great great nieces and nephews and two special friends Shirley Hurt and Robert Brand. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Fred, Edward E., Charles W. and Robert E. Clark, two sisters, Louise and infant, Mildred Clark, brother-in-law, Charles W. Brown and a nephew Samuel Clark.

Marvin served in the US Navy on board the USS Stribling from 1952-1954. He received the National Defense Service Medal.

Marvin as a young man sold radio guides on the main streets of town. He graduated from Galesburg High School. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg and later at the St. James United Methodist Church in Danville, Illinois. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW in Danville.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Tim Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon-1:00pm Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery with military rites. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
