Chicago police charge 2 men in triple homicide

CHICAGO (AP) — Police have charged two Chicago men in a shooting that killed three people at a barbecue party near a playground last month.

The men — 20-year-old Anthony Jackson and 22-year-old Lawrence Brown — were arrested and charged Saturday with three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder and aggravated battery.

Chicago police say the men were charged in connection with a Sept. 29 shooting. They are accused walking out of an alley and firing into a crowd of people killing 22-year-old Ayanna Northern, 25-year-old Antian Hardmon and 29-year-old Tyrone Spikes.

Two other people were wounded in the same shooting.

It was not immediately clear if Jackson and Brown were represented by attorneys who might be able to comment on the charges.
