Spooktacular Trivia Night to benefit MDA

NALCLocal letter carriers are coming together a week from Saturday for a trivia night and costume contest to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The local branch of the National Association of Letter Carriers is hosting the second annual Halloween Trivia Night Spooktacular at the Knights of Columbus Hall on November 7th at 7.

Letter carrier Toni Ball tells Galesburg’s Evening News on WGIL the MDA is a special charity to mail carriers.

“Muscular dystrophy is the National Association of Letter Carriers’ national charity,” Ball says. “Everything we do, we do for them.”

NALC member Jessica Stone says last year’s trivia night — the first such event by the letter carriers — brought in just over $4,000.

A total of 16 trivia teams participated, a number Stone says she hopes to top this year.

Tickets for the upcoming Spooktacular are $10 per person. Teams should have six to eight people.

The event will also include a 50/50 drawing and silent auction with various items, including overnight stays and sport memorabilia.

Trophies will be awarded for top costume contest participants.

Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.

Over the past 15 years, the NALC has raised about $20 million for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
