Trunk or Treat to promote family this Saturday

trunk or treatGalesburg trick or treaters will be out and about this Saturday, and those looking to have a safe and fun family experience may consider the Trunk or Treat at Bethel Baptist Church.

That’s what Co-Organizers Rick Stufflebeam and Kristine Trone say they will be offering early Saturday evening.

Stufflebeam says the event started back in 2007, when participants would open up the trunks or their cars to serve candy. The event has evolved a bit since then.

Trone adds that as a mom she is always concerned with safety on Halloween. She tells Galesburg’s Morning News on WGIL, that Trunk or Treat has that.

“One of the biggest things for me as a mom, was to have a place where everything is at one place,” says Trone. “There’s activities and we also have supper there, which is huge for a mom trying to find supper on Halloween night. You can have a hot dog, you can have juice, and the candy all at one stop with some games in addition to it.”

Trone adds that the event shouldn’t take away from those who want to trick or treat in the neighborhood either.

“It’s kind of nice that the kids can go to us and then go right down Academy Street into that area.”

Trunk or treat will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. in the church parking lot. There is no charge.
