7th Annual Treat Street hits the street tomorrow

TreatStreet2015Up to 2,000 kids and 5,000 people are expected to roam the downtown haunts of Galesburg tomorrow for an annual trick or treating event that connects citizens to area businesses.

The 7th Annual Treat Street kicks off tomorrow morning at 10p.m. at Casey’s Party Creations.

The Galesburg Business Association is once again the coordinator of the event this year, and nearly 30 GBA businesses including WGIL are participating.

That’s according to GBA President Dennis Case who says participants will receive bags and maps this year, and that trick or treaters who bring their bags back from last year will receive an additional treat.

Case tells Galesburg’s Morning News on WGIL, that one change this year will be a new ending stop.

“It will end in a different spot this year, it’s going to end at the Kensington Ballroom,” says Case. “We’ve got tables and chairs for the kids, and we’ll have pizza and pop for the kids at the Kensington. You can also sign up for a boys bike and a girls bike–we’re going to give those away. Randomly, we’re going to give out prizes as the kids go by, not of huge value, but something the kids will enjoy.”

Case says kids will be able to explore emergency vehicles near the Kensington as well. Trick or treating of the businesses ends at 1 p.m.
