ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — An old fire station that’s been used recently as a senior center has been called a total loss after a fire.
The Rockford Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire Saturday morning at the building, known as the old Rockford Fire Station 4.
The Rockford Register Star reports there were no injuries
Fire officials say the fire spread from the rear of the building through the attic. Investigators are looking into what may have caused the blaze.
The building hadn’t been use as a fire station since the late 1970s. It has been in use recently by a community group for seniors.
