Vikings QB Bridgewater leaves game with head injury

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was knocked out of the game by a hit to the head in the fourth quarter against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

After going to the locker room for examination, the Vikings ruled Bridgewater out for the rest of the game with a concussion.

Bridgewater was scrambling for a first down and went into a slide on the play. Rams defensive back Lamarcus Joyner launched and hit Bridgewater in the head with his left shoulder.

Joyner was penalized for unnecessary roughness on the play and Vikings coach Mike Zimmer was livid on the sideline.

Bridgewater completed 13 of 21 passes for 144 yards with one interception. He also scored on a rushing touchdown and a 2-point conversion.

Shaun Hill replaced Bridgewater at quarterback.
