DeceasedImageVivian M. “Skip” Allison, age 90, of Galesburg, Ill inois formerly of Alpha, IL. died Saturday November 7, 2015 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg. Services are 11:00 AM Thursday November 12, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull, IL.

Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal at a later date. Visitation is from 3-6 PM Wednesday November 11, 2015 at Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha. She was born February 3, 1925 in Galesburg to A. C. “Pete” and Vera Irene Johnson Leafgreen. She graduated from Alpha High School in 1943. On September 9, 1945 she was united in marriage to Wayne O. Allison in Florida.
Skip was a U. S. Navy Veteran serving in the WAVES during WW 2.

They farmed in the New Windsor area for many years. In 1973 she received her LPN degree and was employed at Cottage Hospital as well as area nursing homes and doctors’ offices in Galesburg for over 20 years.

Skip was a devoted volunteer at the Henry County Veterans Assistance and was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, the Alpha American Legion and was a former director of the AlWood Food Pantry.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Turee (Bruce) Olsen of Oak Park, IL, Trina (Chris) Huene of Edwardsville, IL, 1 son, Dudley (Ruth) Allison of Indianola, IA, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, Joyce (Cletus) Devlin and Kay (Tom) Thompson both of New Windsor, Il, Sherrie (Dick) Taylor of Woodhull, Il, Joby (Don) Eiker of Lexington, IL

Her parents and a grandson Casey Wayne Allison preceded her in death.
