Super Clean Car Wash delayed two more weeks

A car wash that planned to open at the beginning of November on Carl Sandburg Drive is now expected to open in the next 14 days, weather permitting.

That’s according to Super Clean Car Wash Owner Mark Kleine, who tells WGIL the facility is nearly done with construction.

“The biggest challenge right now is trying to get the rest of the pavement, floor and concrete work done,” says Kleine. “That’s really the only thing preventing us from opening up at this point. We still have more concrete to pour and then you have to let that set up for awhile once it is poured. We are kind of at the mercy of the weather right now.”

He adds that he is satisfied with the work done so far.

“I think we’ve got a beautiful building and it’s going to be a great product,” says Kleine.

Kleine says the rainy conditions, expected to continue for the next couple days, has slowed things down.

The local businessman expects concrete work to take about one week. An additional week would be needed to allow the concrete to settle and dry before vehicles could drive on it.

Once the building is operational, the car wash will employ two full time workers and between six and ten part-timers.

Kleine says Super Clean Car Wash is in the hiring process right now.
