Evelyn Lorene Hicks 82, of Macomb, IL formerly of Swan Creek, IL passed away Friday November 13, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center Macomb, IL.
She was born Monday October 2, 1933 in Athens, AL the daughter of George Thomas and Laura Lucille (Hall) Baldwin. She married Floyd Hicks on April 3, 1951, he preceded her on January 20, 2004.
She is survived by four children Brenda (Dave) Goering of Inman, KS, Lonnie (Missie) Hicks of Woodbridge, VA, Larry (Lori) Hicks of Macomb, IL, and Lyle (Cecilia) Hicks of Swan Creek, IL; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; two sisters Georgia (Floyd) Gordon of Athens, AL, and Dean Brown of Millbrook, IL; two brothers Ocie (Helen) Baldwin of Swan Creek, IL, and Thomas Leon Baldwin of Athens, AL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter (Alexandria Hicks), 1 brother, and 4 sisters.
She was born and raised in the South. She raised her family in the Roseville Community area. She loved to garden, and play cards. She also enjoyed crafting and quilting. She was a good cook and enjoyed feeding her family. She wa an avid fishermen.
Memorial service will be Monday November 16, 2015, 1:30 pm at the Wise Family-Hoover Hall Funeral Home Monmouth, IL, family will receive friends from 10:00 am-1:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
