Blue Island police officer accused in sexual assault

BLUE ISLAND, Ill. (AP) — A suburban Chicago police officer has been placed on paid administrative leave amid a sexual assault investigation.

Blue Island police officer John Miller is charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault. He was arrested Wednesday after someone came into the Blue Island Police Department last week to accuse the veteran police officer of a sex crime.

WLS-TV reports that Miller has worked for the Blue Island Police Department since 2000.

Miller is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning in Markham.

It wasn’t immediately known whether he has an attorney.
