Piper, Larry Lee

Piper LArryLarry Lee Piper, Jr., 53, of Oak Run, Illinois passed away at 6:37 P.M. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. 

Larry was born on June 6, 1962 in Harbor City, California, the son of Larry and Karen Piper.

He is survived by two sons, Derek Lee Piper of Creve Coeur, MO and Joshua Drew Piper of Springfield, Illinois.  He is also survived by his parents; a brother, Lance Piper and wife Denise Piper of Morton, Illinois; a niece, Natasha Piper of Ashland, Illinois; and a nephew, Nicholas Piper of Morton, Illinois.

He attended North Greene Schools in White Hall, Illinois and college at Lewis and Clark Community College and Eastern Illinois University.

He was employed at Hanson Engineering firm in Springfield, Illinois for twenty years and presently employed as dairy manager at Hy-Vee in Galesburg, Illinois.  He attended The Oaks Community Church and had many hobbies and interests: model railroading, fishing, camping, and antiquing.  He was an avid Cardinal fan, and more than anything loved spending time with his two sons.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at The Oaks Community Church in Oak Run on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00 A.M.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the church.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
