Stubbs, Walter A. “Wally”

Walter StubbsWalter A. “Wally” Stubbs, 57, of Kewanee, Il. died at 9:35 A.M. Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his home. Wally was born May 6, 1958 in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine the son of Paul and Elaine (Arnold) Stubbs.

He attended Spoon River Valley Schools and enjoyed football and wrestling. He married Debbie McKown. They were divorced.Wally worked as a cook at Cerno’s in Kewanee and previously owned and operated Spotter’s in Tremont, Il. He had also cooked at several area restaurants. Wally’s passion and talent was cooking.

Surviving is one daughter Amanda (Brian) Forrest of Kewanee, two grandsons Tucker and Trapper of Kewanee, his parents Paul Stubbs of Freeland, Pa. and Elaine Knox of Galesburg, Il., two brothers Brian (DeeDee) Stubbs of Farmington, Il. and Gregory Reed (Lorrie Thornton) of Peoria, Heights, Il., one sister Vicki (Mike) Pelrine of Nova Scotia, Canada and several nieces and nephews. Wally was preceded in death by one brother Rodney Stubbs and his stepfather Raymond Knox.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. Pastor Dan Craig will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Midway Cemetery in London Mills, Il. on his birthday May 6, 2016.
