Galesburg Silver Streaks Football vs Quincy Blue Devils

WGIL 392

SpotLight-GHS-Sports-FootBa

The GHS Silver Streaks fought hard to beat Quincy 35-28 Friday night. Galesburg never lead until the game went in to overtime, but they never gave up either. They kept tying it up every time Quincy answered back with their own TD’s. Once in overtime, Galesburg scored off of their first play and lead for the first time 35-28. Possession then went to the Blue Devils and they fumbled on their first play and the Streaks quickly recovered thus ending the game and winning it for Galesburg. This makes the streaks eligible for the play-offs and this is the first time in 23 years that Galesburg got a piece of the conference championship. This as well as the new Van Dyke field being dedicated tonight makes this night an extremely special one. The Streaks will play again next Friday against Peoria Central.
