Erin Olson from the Knox County Health Department talked with us about Adult Dental Day.

The Knox County Health Department is hosted a free adult dental day at the Carl Sandburg College Annex in downtown Galesburg. This is an event where patients do not have to identify themselves or pay for dental care. Erin Olson is the Public Information Officer for the Knox County Health Department. She joined us to talk about this event on the WGIL Morning News.

Musician, singer, songwriter Paul Thorn will joined us  on the WGIL Morning News.

Paul Thorn grew up in Tupelo, MS the son of a pentacostal preacher. A talented musician, he is an icon in the world of Americana music. Paul and his band were coming to Galesburg to play at the Fat Fish Pub. We talked with him about growing up in Tupelo, his music & influences,  his family and his career.

Adam Ruehmer is a Galesburg High School graduate, attended  Augustana College and got a bachelor’s degree from McNally Smith School of Music College of Music in St. Paul, MN. He traveled the world with the band Linkin Park as their Strategic Marketing Manager for over 5 years and currently works in Interactive Marketing for Warner Brothers Records.

Bob Nutzhorn, Galesburg Christian School Administrator Joined us to talk about the school’s 14th Annual Auction.

Galesburg Christian School is hosting their 14th Annual Auction, Saturday April 26, at Calvary Assembly of God Church on Linwood Road. The doors open @ 11am. This one of their two biggest fundraisers of the year. GCS Senior Administrator Bob Nutzhorn joined us on the WGIL Morning News to talk about the auction and some other events, as well as some changes in their pre-school program.

Karen Brophy has run the Boston Marathon & is preparing for the New York City Marathon.

Today is Boston Marathon Day, one year after the tragic bombings. We talked with Galesburg native Karen Brophy about her experience running in Boston on the WGIL Morning News. Karen is foregoing the Boston race this year and is currently in training for the New York City Marathon. Included in her training will be a half marathon in Des Moines next weekend. She may return to Boston next year.
