The Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team is heading to the NJCAA National Tournament.
The Chargers men’s golf team will play in the National Tournament for the second consecutive year. Head coach Ryan Twaddle is just off a trip to the men’s basketball National Tournament as well. Ryan joined us on the WGIL Morning News to talk about the season, the nationals, recruiting and a little basketball.

The emerald ash borer problem started in Michigan and is spreading throughout the midwest, including here in Knox County. Many trees have either died or been cut down locally due to the emerald ash borer. Chris Enroth of University of Illinois Extension talks about the problem locally and if there is any solution.
Habitat for Humanity of Knox County is celebrating house number 47 with and open house and dedication, Saturday, May 17. There will be a ceremonial mortgage burning for the first ever Habitat homeowner. Habitat for Humanity Knox County Executive Director Jordan Knight joined us on the WGIL Morning News.
Libby Allison is the new co-anchor at WEEK-TV channel 25 in Peoria.
Libby is a Galesburg native who has returned to the area after anchoring at WVIR-TV in Charlottesville, VA since 2009. Prior to that, she was anchor at Fox 18 in the Quad Cities for 5 years. Libby is a graduate of Western Illinois University. She joined us on the WGIL Morning News.
Paul Hamilton is bring a concert series to the area.
Singer, songwriter, recording artist Paul Hamilton is starting a brand new concert series. It’s the A-Town Music Theater. The concerts will take place at the Stockdale Auditorium @ Abingdon High School. Paul will play some of his original music along with many other favorites and different genres.

The Knox County Health Department is hosted a free adult dental day at the Carl Sandburg College Annex in downtown Galesburg. This is an event where patients do not have to identify themselves or pay for dental care. Erin Olson is the Public Information Officer for the Knox County Health Department.
