The GHS Silver Streaks beat the Peoria Manual Rams 61-26 for the Streaks’ homecoming game and it was the first win at New Van Dyke Field.
The Streaks are now 3-3 for the season and the Rams sit at 1-5. The Streaks will play again next Friday at Rock Island against the Rocks.

There will be a 911 referendum on the November ballot in Knox County. Knox County Sheriff David Clague is on a tour of sorts to get the information out.
The current 911 system in Knox County has been in place since 1994. The County is wanting to update the system to be compatible with all cell and smart phones. They are proposing a small sales tax and asking voters to vote YES. Sheriff David Clague joined us to discuss the details on the WGIL Morning News.

The Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence or CAEPV, is an Illinois based organization that is partnering with the National Football League to help them write policy regarding domestic violence. This issue is at the forefront of national news with the recent allegations of abuse against several prominent NFL players. Kim is a former Illinois State University and Heartland Community College faculty member, as well as serving as a member of the National Advisory Board for the National Family Justice Center Alliance, the Advisory Board for the Allstate Foundation Domestic Violence Program, the Verizon Foundation Domestic Violence Advisory Board, and the Workplace Committee of the National Task Force to End Sexual and Domestic Violence Against Women, among others. She joined us to talk about this issue and the organization’s role with the NFL on the WGIL Morning News.
The GHS Silver Streaks football team fell to the Peoria Richwoods Knights 43-42 after overtime tonight. The Streaks are now 2-2 for the season, the Knights are 3-1. The Streaks play next at Peoria Notre Dame next Friday.
