A lack of state funding and the closing of prisons in Illinois is beginning to have an affect on Henry Hill Correctional Center.

Officials with U.S. District Court in Peoria say a judge sentenced 45-year-old Sandra Genisio yesterday to 18 months in prison starting May 27th. Until that time, she remains free on bond.

During last night’s Knox County Finance Committee meeting, members discussed the possibility of trying the tax again during November’s General Election.
