NORMAL, Ill. (AP)–Tre Roberson passed for three touchdowns, Marshaun Coprich rushed for more than 100 yards for the 11th time this season, scoring twice, and Illinois State defeated Southern Illinois 44-29 on Saturday to win 10 games for the first time in school history while earning a share of the Missouri Valley Conference championship.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP)–Backup quarterback Reilly O’Toole led Illinois on a late drive that set up a game-winning David Reisner field goal, delivering a 16-14 win over Penn State on Saturday.
In their 4th game of the Thanksgiving Tournament at John Thiel Gym in Galesburg, the GHS girls basketball team held on for their 4th straight win. The Silver Streaks started the 4th quarter leading the Springfield Senators by 16 points, but were tested late in the game and won by just a point, 55-54. Lexi Daniels was named the Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. Lexi scored 13 points and saved two errant passes late in the game, which helped the Streaks retain the lead and the win. KENT, Ohio (AP)–Kris Brewer scored 17 points and went 3 for 3 from long range Friday night to lead Kent State to a 74-51 win over Southern Illinois in the opening round of the Men Against Breast Cancer Classic.
