The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team made pretty easy work of two opponents at their own Thanksgiving tournament Friday, defeating Limestone in the afternoon game 73-46, and then East Peoria at night 68-28.
The GHS Silver Streaks boys beat the East Peoria Raiders 68-28. GHS took an early lead and held onto that lead throughout the game. By the end of the third quarter, the score sat at 61-23 Streaks causing continuous clock to be enacted for the fourth quarter. This win makes the Streaks 3-0 so far for the season and the Raiders are 2-2. The Streaks will play again tomorrow morning (11/29) against Peoria Notre Dame with pre-game set for 10:40 and tip off at 11. Then at 3pm tomorrow we have the GHS Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony followed by a Girls game against Peoria Christian with a pre-game of 6:10 and tip off at 6:30, and then another boys game against Pekin for the boys’ Thanksgiving Tournament with pre-game at 8:00 and tip off at 8:20. So a full day basketball tomorrow to round off the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.

The Silver Streaks boys got their 2nd win in the Thanksgiving Tournament at John Thiel Gym by handily beating Limestone, 73-46. It’s the first time Galesburg has beat Limestone since the 1997-98 season. The Streaks next game in the tournament is tonight at 7:30 PM against East Peoria. Game #2 of the young season for the Galesburg boys basketball team comes up this afternoon as the Silver Streaks play Bartonville Limestone.
The Galesburg High School Boys Basketball Team carried a quick start in the first quarter all the way to the end, in an 83-54 rout of Chicago Marshall, to open up their season and the boys portion of the Galesburg Thanksgiving Tournament.
