The focus continues to be on girls high school basketball this week, as regional championships will be decided around the area this evening.
The championship games are set in some of the girls regional basketball tournaments, while others will play their semifinal games tonight.
The opening-round games of the girl’s regional basketball tournaments are over, and now it’s on to the semifinals for the surviving teams.
Regional play begins tonight in Illinois for the girl’s class 1A and 2A basketball teams.
The Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball team got back into the win column yesterday after a disappointing loss Thursday against conference foe Rock Island.
The GHS Silver Streaks Boys Basketball team beat the DeKalb Barbs 59-48. This makes the Streaks 21-6 for the season while the Barbs fall to 16-7 in their season. The Streaks will be playing again next on Friday against Quincy for Senior night with a pre-game time set for 7:06pm and tip off set to take place at about 7:30pm.
