Most of the area small-school volleyball teams will swing back into action tonight, including the Knoxville Blue Bullets who travel to Aledo to play Mercer County.
Galesburg will play host to the Women’s Senior Amateur State Golf Tournament beginning tomorrow at Soangetaha Country Club.
After tonight, a third of the high school football season will be in the books.
The GHS Silver Streaks football team fell to the Peoria Richwoods Knights 43-42 after overtime tonight. The Streaks are now 2-2 for the season, the Knights are 3-1. The Streaks play next at Peoria Notre Dame next Friday.

The area high school volleyball schedule picks up this evening, with the Galesburg Silver Streaks seeing their first action since last weekend, as the Macomb Bombers will be in town.
Ryan Rickets is a 2011 GHS graduate who played football, basketball and track for the Silver Streaks. He is currently the starting left guard for the Western Illinois University football team. Ryan will graduate from Western in December but will return as a fifth year player for the Leathernecks next season. We had a chance to chat with Ryan about his high school experience in Galesburg and his career at WIU on the WGIL Morning News.
