It was announced today (February 22nd) that the Abingdon-Avon District #276 Board of Education has begun the search process for a new superintendent for the 2022-23 school year. WGIL reported back on January 13th that Dr. Mike Curry resigned from the position and accepted a position as Chief Operational Officer for a district in Decatur. The District 276 board selected the firm School Exec Connect to assist it in its search process. The board also encourages the community to give input on a new superintendent.
Visit the district website and click on the “superintendent search” link at the top of the page. The survey will be available through March 3rd. The 276 board also encourages community members to attend a forum where one can provide input on the district’s strengths, challenges, and the skills the next superintendent should possess. The forum will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd at 6:00 pm at the high school auditorium. Findings from the survey, open forums, and several focus group conversations will be used to develop a “New Superintendent Profile” that will be reported to the Board on March 9, 2022.
