Arrest made in Friday chase

Authorities arrested a Knoxville man Friday, following a chase by vehicle and on foot that damaged property.

27-year-old Joe L. Myers was captured after attempting to evade police during the early morning hours.

Reports indicate Myers drove erratically, speeding up to 60 mph at times near Monmouth Blvd. on the south side of Galesburg.

Before exiting his vehicle, Myers drove through a yard and destroyed a fence connected between two residences at Berrien and Harding Streets.

No injuries were reported. Upon capture, the Knoxville man was found to have a blood alcohol content level of .226, and had been driving on a suspended drivers license.

Myers now faces a laundry list of charges which include traffic citations as well as resisting a peace officer and aggravated fleeing arrest. He additionally had a warrant out for his arrest in McDonough County.

Myers remains held in the Knox County Jail at this time.
