Belleville Campus President Leaves For Florida college

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) — The president of Lindenwood University’s Belleville campus is leaving for an administrative job at a Florida arts college.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports that Jerry Bladdick will step down in September after more than two years as campus president. He will join the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota as assistant vice president and director of continuing studies and special programs.

Bladdick was hired at Lindenwood-Belleville in 2009 as vice president and chief administrative officer. He was promoted to campus president in May 2013.

Lindenwood is based in St. Charles, Missouri but opened a campus at a former Belleville high school 11 years ago, initially offering only night classes.

The school says enrollment in southwestern Illinois now exceeds 2,000, an increase of more than fourfold since 2010.
