Blood donations still needed despite COVID-19; blood drives Wednesday in Galesburg

red-cross-5

The American Red Cross said Sunday that blood donations were dropping because of the COVID-19 outbreak — either because people just didn’t want to go, or believed (falsely) that blood donations can spread the disease.  Locally, two blood drives will be held Wednesday from 12-6pm in Galesburg.  We get all the details from Trish Burnett, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Serving the Quad Cities and West Central Illinois, on Galesburg’s Evening News.

In addition to the Red Cross, the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center also has local blood drives available. CLICK HERE for those.
