The head of one of the largest freight transportation companies in North America visited Galesburg this morning for a private company event.
BNSF CEO Carl Ice spoke to Galesburg employees today at a “town hall” style meeting at the Orpheum Theatre.
BNSF Vice President of External Communications Mike Trevino says Ice travels across the company’s system once per month to meet with a few select locations.
Trevino says Ice will next visit with employees in Texas as a part of today’s trip.
BNSF is one of the largest employers in Galesburg, harboring a railyard and multiple trains passing through per day.
According to the company’s website, more than 43,000 are employed continent-wide.
Ice has been the BNSF CEO since 2014.
