A Brimfield man charged in the death of an Abingdon woman appeared via video in Knox County Circuit Court yesterday after being arrested on Friday.

Forty-five-year-old Troy Patch is charged with reckless homicide as well as a string of meth and DUI charges for his involvement in a crash that killed 71-year-old Drienne Kruzan on Route 41 earlier this year.

Bond is set at $350,000 and the reckless homicide, a meth production charge and two DUI charges have been classified as Class X felonies.

In May, police began investigating the components of a meth lab that were found in Patch’s Ford truck at the scene of the wreck. Judge Stephen Mathers continued bond yesterday.

Patch indicated Attorney Steven Glasgow will represent him as legal counsel. His next court date is Friday at 9 a.m.
