WASHINGTON (AP) — Mike Dunleavy scored 35 points, one shy of his career-high, Jimmy Butler hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 24 seconds remaining, and the Chicago Bulls hung on Friday night for a 100-97 win over the Washington Wizards, trimming the deficit to 2-1 in their Eastern Conference first round series.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington Wizards coach Randy Wittman says things “got out of hand” when Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah got into a shouting match with a Wizards security official during the Bulls’ shootaround ahead of Game 3 in the teams’ first-round series.
The Wizards lead the Chicago Bulls 2-0 in the first-round series, with Game 3 in Washington on Friday night.
Washington ranked 18th in attendance this season, and D.C. fans are notoriously late-arrivers.
Wizards owner Ted Leonsis addressed the issue on his blog Thursday, telling fans: “Don’t be too cool for school and stroll in at end of first period.”
Said guard Bradley Beal: “You definitely notice it. Especially when you first run onto the floor and there’s nobody there.”
