A developer that is seeking to construct a hotel on East Main Street in Galesburg will have to wait an additional two weeks for some perks.
POSTED 8:26pm 5/19/14 The Galesburg City Council is moving forward a project that will see a new parcel of land officially become part of the city, and will see a new retail outlet and possibly even more residential housing.
Aldermen tonight unanimously voted in favor or several pieces of the puzzle along Seminary Street and Carl Sandburg Drive, including annexing land into the city, changing zoning on other parts, and approving the minor plat for part of the land.
A request for a waiver of part of city ordinance connected to the development of the new Casey’s General Store at Seminary Street and Carl Sandburg Drive has been denied.
A town meeting Sunday attempted to share the goals – developed in response to the program offered through the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs at Western Illinois University.
The City of Galesburg’s Economic Development Department plans on using a tool increasing in popularity to help them market and develop what formerly was known as Logistics Park Galesburg.
