Abingdon-Avon school officials are remaining quiet just over a week after a breach of a student information data system was announced.

An employee of District 276 was placed on administrative leave in relation to the incident, though no further information was given. Family and colleagues have reported that individual is Director of Technology Mark Rogers.

The District 276 school board members met last night exactly seven days after a special meeting last Wednesday that drew more than 150 people. At the meeting, many raised allegations of secrecy by the board as well as alleged bullying of teachers by Superintendent Chad Willis.

Today, Rogers’ daughter Brittany Rogers told WGIL that her father remains on leave at this time and that he has not received any word from the district since that decision was made last Tuesday.

As an investigation continues and controversy and rumors swirl, school board member Dedra Mannon has asked the public remain patient as the details are sorted out.

Mannon spoke with WGIL last Thursday and said all matters of the investigation and allegations against Willis are being looked into. Multiple calls to Willis have not been returned.
