Steve Pemberton has had by most standards an incredible journey which forced him to overcome daunting obstacles.

He told his story in a 2012 best selling memoir entitled, “A Chance in the World”, and a movie based on the book is currently under way.

Pemberton has been honored with Honorary Doctorates from Winston-Salem University and Boston College, as well as the U.S. Congress’ Horizon Award, which is award to individuals in the private sector who have contributed to expanding opportunities for Americans through their personal contributions.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
