After more than a year in the making and an overview from the City of Galesburg’s legal team the long awaited festival liquor ordinance is now headed to city council.

FIRST REPORTED 5pm 6/23/14 It took them all of three hours to decide, but the Galesburg City Council now has four main areas they want administration to work on when crafting a budget for the coming calendar/fiscal year.
Aldermen held the first of what will be many budget work sessions between now and the end of the fiscal year in December Monday afternoon.
During last night’s Galesburg City Council meeting, aldermen unanimously approved $22,000 to the company. The City of Galesburg allocates $50,000 on an annual basis for job training incentives.
Midstate Manufacturing in Galesburg could be on the receiving end of a job training grant.
The Galesburg City Council tonight will consider whether to allocate up to $22,000 for the training that will affect 135 employees at the company.
POSTED 8:26pm 5/19/14 The Galesburg City Council is moving forward a project that will see a new parcel of land officially become part of the city, and will see a new retail outlet and possibly even more residential housing.
Aldermen tonight unanimously voted in favor or several pieces of the puzzle along Seminary Street and Carl Sandburg Drive, including annexing land into the city, changing zoning on other parts, and approving the minor plat for part of the land.
