During last month’s Galesburg Community Relations Commission meeting, residents affected by Cooke Elementary School’s closure were invited to speak.
The Galesburg Community Relations Commission invited parents and guardians to their monthly meeting last night to discuses the closure of Cooke Elementary.
Several families showed up looking for their opportunity to tell the commission why they believe they’ve been discriminated against.
The Galesburg Chapter of the NAACP held a round-table Saturday to compile question from parents and guardians regarding Cooke’s closing.
Now that District 205 has announced the Board of Education is considering a potential closure of Cooke Elementary, the Galesburg Education Association has a few questions.
Where will the students be transferred? Is there room to hold them? and What will happen to the teachers?
