District-205 Assistant Superintendent David Black told the District-205 Building Committee recently that in addition to work that will be done to improve the heating and air conditioning at Wicall Gym’s Mustain Pool, a lot of painting now needs to be done as well.

We’ll Beloit Snappers Head Groundskeeper Zach Ricketts at 7:10.
Zach Ricketts is a graduate of Galesburg High School and Knox College. He has done an internship with the Boston Red Sox and worked for the Milwaukee Brewers. He is currently the Head Groundskeeper for the Beloit Snappers of the Midwest League. We’ll talk with him at 7:10 on the WGIL Morning News.
Some of the Galesburg High School Silver Streaks spring sports were hoping to do at least some work at home this season despite ongoing Master Facilities Plan work, but that’s looking more and more to be not the case.
It was already known that the GHS track team wouldn’t be at home this year because of ongoing construction of the new football and track fields, but GHS Athletic Director Ralph Henning says even practice is a problem because of the harsh winter we’ve had.

With the construction going on at Galesburg High School, the baseball and softball fields are currently not usable. Ralph Henning will join us to discuss whether the Streaks will get a chance for any home games this season at 8:10 on the WGIL Morning News.

The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team plays Dunlap for the Geneseo Regional championship tonight. The teams split their two games during the regular season.
