The Galesburg Education Association held a press conference today where they claimed that contract talks with the Galesburg School District have “stalled,”and that they don’t trust the district anymore in terms of working toward a fair deal.

The Community Eligibility Option once again found its way in front of the District 205 Board of Education.
The program, which would provide free lunch to all students who attend King, Lombard, Steele and Nielson was originally rejected by the board after a tie vote.
The “Parent Forum,” as it was described, gave parents and other interested residents an opportunity to ask questions of the GEA to better understand the issues holding up contract talks.
