The Galesburg Education Association held their second news conference in as many days today — this time, to dispute a published report that suggested the GEA was filing a lawsuit against District 205.

We don’t trust the Galesburg School District Administration anymore. That’s according to members of the Galesburg Education Association, who say they remain far apart from administration on various contract issues, as the strike of District-205 teachers starts its second week.
The Community Eligibility Option once again found its way in front of the District 205 Board of Education.
The program, which would provide free lunch to all students who attend King, Lombard, Steele and Nielson was originally rejected by the board after a tie vote.
The “Parent Forum,” as it was described, gave parents and other interested residents an opportunity to ask questions of the GEA to better understand the issues holding up contract talks.
