Galesburg Silver Streaks Basketball vs. Geneseo Maple Leafs

Here is a recap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Tom Meredith:

“The Galesburg Silver Streaks fall on Senior Night at John Thiel Gym to the fifth ranked team in Class 3A, the Geneseo Maple Leafs. 67-43 was the final score. The Streaks drop to 13-8 overall, 3-5 in the Western Big 6. The Maple Leafs now 16-2 and 8-0 in the Western Big 6 conference.

“Galesburg had trouble putting the ball in the basket again, 13-48 from the field. From behind the arc just 2-18. It was Lauren Livingston leading the way with 14 points. She had 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Audree Peck though, kept the Streaks in it early, down by 8 at halftime. Audree with 10 points in the first half, also 4 rebounds and a blocked shot. She didn’t score in the 2nd half. A couple of cheap fouls put her out of the game early. In fact her fifth foul came on a play where she was somewhere in the vicinity but did not commit the foul. So she was disqualified early in the 3rd quarter.

“Those are the only two players in double figures for the Streaks. Kammie Ludwig with 15 for Geneseo. Maddi Barickman with 14 off the bench. Ann Wirth, a freshman, with 17 for the Maple Leafs.

“Sophomores a winner tonight 47-46 was the final. And Audree Peck is our Dave’s Autobody CrunchTime Player of the Game. Streaks fall 67-43.”
