Award winning blues & soul jazz musician Bruce Katz joins us at 8:35.
Bruce Katz is an award winning musician. He’s played keyboards for The Gregg Allman Band, Delbert McClinton and The Bruce Katz Band among others. The Bruce Katz Band will perform @ Fat Fish Pub in Galesburg Thursday night at 6:00. We’ll talk with Bruce at 8:35 this morning on the WGIL Morning News.
A meeting of the Peacekeepers last night proved to be fruitful for the group.
After a few presentations from the Knox County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition and the Mary Davis Home, the group switched gears and formed committees.
A Galesburg woman is in custody, and a Galesburg man is wanted, after police allegedly discovered a methamphetamine lab in a home over the weekend.
A Galesburg man arrested earlier this month for an alleged sexual assault of a woman was back in court yesterday.

Zach Ricketts is a graduate of Galesburg High School and Knox College. He has done an internship with the Boston Red Sox and worked for the Milwaukee Brewers. He is currently the Head Groundskeeper for the Beloit Snappers of the Midwest League. We’ll talk with him at 7:10 on the WGIL Morning News.
Tonight the Galesburg Peacekeepers will meet to continue their work on ways to improve Galesburg and help it’s youth.
This time, the meeting will be at the former Carver Center, at 424 Depot Street.
A lack of state funding and the closing of prisons in Illinois is beginning to have an affect on Henry Hill Correctional Center.
Officials with U.S. District Court in Peoria say a judge sentenced 45-year-old Sandra Genisio yesterday to 18 months in prison starting May 27th. Until that time, she remains free on bond.
