Galesburg residents could soon be noticing more sidewalk seating around town.
During last night’s Galesburg City Council meeting, aldermen considered an ordinance amendment that would allow for the sale and consumption of alcohol on the city’s sidewalks.
All that was known was the Galesburg Public Library was approved as a carryover project for a possible state library grant.

Josh Eiker placed 2nd in the 200 meters and 4th in the 100 at the Class AA IHSA State Track & Field meet. He broke the Class AA record in the 200 in the semifinals. That time qualified him to compete in the USATF Junior Nationals in Eugene, Oregon this weekend. He has since won his age group at the Illinois Junior Olympic meet in both the 100 and 200, breaking the state 200 record and setting a new Galesburg High School record in the 100.
