Questions about the community’s healthcare shakeup? There’s a public forum this week that aims to answer your questions.
Galesburg Mayor Peter Schwartzman and Mary Ann Pedigo (BSN, RN) will host a community forum Thursday, January 27, from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Lake Storey Pavilion.
The forum will cover three related topics: the financial challenges faced by health workers and patients; the mental health challenges currently faced by members of our community; and the disruption of services and health records.
Everyone in the community is invited to attend. The intention is to have local experts on hand to field and answer questions and for the community to have a productive conversation on these important matters.
The forum comes after the sudden closure of Galesburg Cottage Hospital and the influx of patients at OSF St. Mary Medical Center. All this amidst the recent spike of COVID-19.
