Live music from a new band, featuring longtime members of various musicians from the Galesburg music scene, will be hitting the stage this afternoon to raise money for the restoration of the city’s most historic theater. Old Dogs-New Tricks will be rocking out to tunes from favorites like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Band, and many other favorites from the 60s and 70s starting at 2 PM. Harry Bulkeley, a former member of Second Mortgage and Sofa Kings, tells WGIL that the Orpheum Theatre is a beautiful building and has a special place in the history of each member.

“Since almost all of us grew up in Galesburg or the surrounding area we have lots of memories about the Orpheum.  Our memories go back, not as far as the building, so when we play there it’s really a personal matter too. We really enjoy being in the building, seeing it, and being able to help out the theatre.”

The concert is free to attend but free will donations will be accepted and go to help pay for the Orpheum’s renovation efforts.
