Norine Hammond named House Deputy Republican Leader for next General Assembly

GOP State Rep. Norine Hammond has been named House Deputy Republican Leader for the 103rd General Assembly.

Hammond was chosen as the second Republican in command in the House by the new GOP House Leader-elect Tony McCombie.

McCombie herself represents a district that includes Colona, East Moline, and Sherrard.

McCombie says Hammond has been a  “friend, seatmate, and trusted partner” during her time in the General Assembly.

She adds that Hammond’s “exemplary leadership, dedicated service, and commonsense approach to governing makes her an outstanding choice” for her leadership team.”

Hammond thanked McCombie for naming her to the post saying they “share a mutual responsibility and concern for the hardworking families of western Illinois.” 

Hammond was recently re-elected to her now in the 94th District for a 6th term and represents.

Hammond now represents towns including Abingdon, Lewistown,and Carthage.
