A new lawmaker representing part of the area is among those who took their oaths of office in Springfield.
Randy Frese, a former Adams County Circuit Clerk, won the Republican Party’s nomination for the open 94th District State Representative seat. While voters largely picked Frese, Warren County voters largely preferred opponent the hometown guy — Marshall Schrader.
He carried his native Warren County, but in the end, it wasn’t enough to defeat a political veteran for a seat in the Illinois House.
