Dan Ricketts, 75, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 11:55 pm, Sunday, April 25, 2021, at his home.
Dan was born October 5, 1945, in Monmouth, Illinois the son of Norman and Maxine (Spicer) Ricketts. He was raised and educated in Monmouth.
He joined the United States Army earning the rank of Private E-1. He worked for Maytag in Galesburg, Illinois, and retired in 2002 after 38 years of service. He began mowing lawns locally after his retirement.
Dan enjoyed being active and spending time outdoors.
Surviving Dan is his daughter, Lisa A. Hughes; step-granddaughter, Shelby Linze, and one brother, Jim Ricketts all of Monmouth. Several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Douglas Ricketts, and his significant other of over 20 years Rose Linze.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a private family graveside in Monmouth Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dan Ricketts Memorial Fund and left in the care of the funeral home.
