UPDATE: Deceased identified in train-semi wreck

Authorities have identified the Kewanee man killed in yesterday morning’s wreck involving an Amtrak train and a semi-trailer.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Department says 65-year-old Rodney Dorman died after a semi he was driving was struck by an Amtrak train around 10 a.m. yesterday while crossing the tracks southwest of Galva.

The train was travelling west into Galesburg on the line between Quincy and Chicago 

The driver was using a private drive along Hayes Road.

Dorman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Amtrak train was carrying 47 passengers. One was transported from the scene with minor injuries.

Amtrak Spokesman Marc Magliari says the train did not derail.
